Solar Energy Research Center, SERC Chile
Duration: 2018–2024
Within the framework of the SERC Chile project and its renewed strategic focus on advancing the widespread integration of solar energy into the country’s production systems, the Power Electronics and Energy Conversion line, in which Peclab participates representing the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, has significantly contributed through the development of advanced converters and intelligent controllers aimed at improving the efficiency, reliability, and flexibility of solar systems at different scales. This line has addressed key challenges in the integration of solar sources into power grids, mining applications, and off-grid systems through the design of robust conversion technologies capable of adapting to irradiance variations and the specific conditions of the Chilean electrical system. Additionally, work has been done on the evaluation and experimental validation of new converter architectures, facilitating their transfer to real-world applications within SERC’s strategic axes.
